Biography

Born in the village of Arzgir , Arzgirsky District , Stavropol Territory in a family of workers. In 1970 he entered the first secondary school in the village of Arzgir. After graduating from school in 1980, he was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army . After graduating from the Tashkent Higher Tank Command School in 1984, it was sent to the 40th Army of TurkVO as part of a limited contingent of Soviet troops in the Republic of Afghanistan .

Then he served in Turkmenistan ( TurkVO ), Hungary ( UGV ), Belarus ( BelVO ).

In 1994 he graduated from the Military Academy of Armored Forces named after R. Ya. Malinovsky and was appointed commander of a battalion in the 693rd motorized rifle regiment of the 58th combined-arms army of the North-Caucasian Military District in the city of Vladikavkaz .

From 1996 he served as deputy commander of the 131st separate motorized rifle brigade in the city of Maikop ( Republic of Adygea ).

By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of October 19, 1996, for courage and heroism shown in the performance of a special task, Lieutenant Colonel Kozlov was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation.

In the early 2000s - Deputy Military Commissar of the Omsk Region and Assistant Governor of the Stavropol Territory. Since 2004 - Head of the Operational Anti-Terrorism Department in the Stavropol Territory.

Since 2007 - Deputy Commander of the Moscow District of the Interior Troops of Russia for combat training.

In 2009, Kozlov graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation .
