As part of Arsenal in 2011

Since 2000, Carl studied at the Charlton Academy. In 2009, he signed his first professional contract with the London club. In 2010, he went on lease to the team at the Eastbourne Borough National Conference and to the team at the South Conference Welling United . In June 2011, he signed a contract with the London Arsenal [2] . Despite the fact that Jenkinson transferred as a free agent (his contract with Charlton ended in the summer of 2011, and Karl decided not to renew it), the Gunners paid about 1 million pounds in compensation for the upbringing. On August 16, Jenkinson made his debut as part of Arsenal, replacing the second half of the Champions League match against Udinese , replacing the injured Joan Jura . On August 20, in a match against Liverpool , Karl made his debut in the English Premier League .

For the 2014/15 season, Jenkinson went on loan to West Ham United . For this club, he spent 32 matches in the championship and was marked by two assists. At the end of the season, West Ham wanted to buy Carl’s transfer. Featured price of 10 million pounds. However, Karl signed a new contract with Arsenal until 2020. For the 2015/16 season, Jenkinson again went on loan to West Ham.

On August 21, 2017, Jenkinson was given a third lease in the last four years, this time at Birmingham City , where he will spend the entire season 2017/2018 [3] .

International

In 2008, he played one match for the youth national team of England (under 17 years old) . In 2010, he was the captain of the youth national team of Finland (under 19 years), for which he played three matches and scored one goal, and in 2011 he played one match for the national team of Finland (under 21) .

After the confident start of the 2012/13 season, for which Jenkinson was awarded a number of positive ratings, England head coach Roy Hodgson seriously thought about including Karl in the application [4] , but in the end he chose Johnson and Walker for the right-back position. After the damage Walker received, Hodgson was about to replace him in a bid for Jenkinson before the match against Poland . Karl trained with the national team, but due to bureaucratic delays, Karl could not be included in the squad [5] . On November 14, 2012, in a match against Sweden (2: 4), he made his debut with England .
