Story
After the spread of the virus, many turned into vampires - these are the "living dead" who attack people and tear them apart, and the bitten one becomes a vampire. Vampires act at night, afraid of fire and burn out in the sun. The south of the USA is completely captured by them, and in the north, beyond the Canadian border, it is rumored to be New Eden ("New Eden"), free from vampires.
Teenager Martin, whose family was killed by vampires, meets a man named Mr. Vampire Slayer, who takes him on a trip to New Eden. Mr. teaches Martin to kill vampires with stakes that need to be stuck in the heart or to separate the brain from the body. On the way, Mr. and Martin call in well-protected “closed cities”, where a relatively normal life of people continues.
Once they rescue an elderly nun from two rapists, and Mr. kills both of the persecutors. Soon, vampire hunters fall into a trap set up by religious fanatics from the Brotherhood. Members of the Brotherhood consider vampires to be God's punishment and give them to those who go against the Brotherhood. The head of the fraternity is Jebediah, whose son (one of the rapists) was killed by Mr. He says that he will leave Martin and the nun in the Brotherhood, but he will punish Mister, giving him to the vampires. However, Mr. thrown at night to the vampires succeeds in cracking down on them and fleeing. Martin also runs away from the Brotherhood and meets Mr near the car they left.
In one of the cities, they take with them on fellow travelers a girl named Belle, who is left alone and is expecting a child. Along the way, a former marinesman, Willie, who has suffered from sectarians, joins them. Upon learning of the new atrocities of the Brotherhood, Mr. with his companions at night attack the post of sectarians, capture Jebediah and tie him to a tree, leaving the vampires to be torn to pieces. Soon they find themselves at a holiday in a closed city, where they meet a nun who has escaped from the Brotherhood. Suddenly, a helicopter appears in the sky, from which vampires are dropped onto the city: this is how the Brotherhood acts with those who do not obey them.
In the morning, Mr. and his four companions continue their journey north, and when their car breaks down, they walk on foot through the woods.
One night, vampires attack a group in an abandoned car park. People flee. A weakened nun shoots one of them, but, being surrounded, asks God for forgiveness and commits suicide .
The detachment continues its journey through the forests and takes refuge in an abandoned bus. One night, Willy disappears, later they find his corpse. Mr. realizes that he is dealing with an unusual vampire who bypasses traps and seems to have intelligence. Once at a halt, Mr. sees a vampire running through the woods and the hunters rush after him, leaving Belle near the fire. Having set off in the morning in the footsteps of a vampire, they find an abandoned house. Martin with a shotgun rushes inside and sees Belle bleeding, tied to a wall. Martin is attacked by a vampire in which he recognizes Jabedia.
Mr. engages in a fight with the vampire, but he is clearly stronger than him. He nails Mr. hands with stakes against the wall and says a monologue, in which he says that God showed his will over him. Martin and Mr. succeed in killing Jebediah, then Martin kills Belle.
Mr. and Martin continue the journey. They meet the girl Peggy, the owner of a roadside cafe that kills vampires with a crossbow . Mr watches as the two young men work together at night with vampires attacking the house. He sees Martin rushing outside and pierces with a stake a vampire whom Peggy fails to kill. Watching teenagers sleeping, Mr. realizes that Martin has already matured, and that together with Peggy they will be able to survive all the difficulties.
When Martin wakes up in the morning, he realizes that Mr. left, leaving them alone. In the morning, young people get in a car and soon find themselves at the Canadian border, at the entrance to New Eden.

Criticism
Poster magazine columnist Stanislav Zelvensky, evaluating the film at 4 points out of 5, called it “a simple and smart post-apocalyptic road movie,” noted that “Vampire Land” “... great, without any discounts on the budget and subgenre ghetto, made and was invented ”and that“ the film eventually turns off the seemingly straight road: zombie horror for one number turns out to be an upbringing novel, and the apocalypse is a school not of survival, but of life ” [5] .
According to Max Milian, the film “reminds the watched audience at once everything and nothing at once”, and the director “managed to turn the notorious trash horror into a human drama, where foregrounds are not vampires of the puberty period, but living people with their own unique character”. In general, “not only the roles well played by the actors, but also the sensibly used music, the original vampire make-up and the talented camera work, made in the style of indie films, contribute to a positive perception of the plot [6] .
The columnist for the newspaper Vedomosti Oleg Zintsov notes that the main theme of the film is “the story of growing up, losing and gaining a family” [7] .
