Raja Harishchandra ( Marathi : राजा हरिश्चंद्र) is India's first full-length film. The film is based on the legend of Raj Harishchandra, which is described in Ramayana and Mahabharata .

Story
The plot of the film revolves around the Raja Harishchandra, who first renounces his kingdom, and then from his wife and children, fulfilling his promise to the sage Viswamitra . However, then it turns out that this was a test, and the gods, satisfied with the high morality of the Raja, return to him his former glory and give him a divine blessing.
