Biography
Born on July 29, 1965 in the village of Elenovsky , Krasnogvardeysky district of the Republic of Adygea in the family of a peasant . Russian. He graduated in 1982, 10 classes of school number 15. Called to the Interior Troops of the Interior Ministry on December 16, 1983. In 1988 he graduated from the Saratov Higher Military Command School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after F. Dzerzhinsky , in 1998 - the Military Academy named after MV Frunze . He served in the Urals and North Caucasus military districts as a platoon , company and battalion commander . Three times he took part in the implementation of special tasks on the territory of the Chechen Republic . He died on April 26, 2000. The title Hero of the Russian Federation was awarded by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 255 of March 5, 2001, posthumously. Awarded the medal "For Courage" . He was buried in his native village Elenovskoe .
Awards
By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 64 of January 29, 1997, for the courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty, Major Shevelev Nikolai Nikolayevich was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation .

- In the village of Elenovsky Hero, a gravestone is erected.
- The street where the hero lived was named after him.
