Biography
Born in Brittany, in the town of Karnak. Later, after leaving the Atlantic coast, settling on the other side of France, near the Belgian border, which was caused by the military service of his father, the boy recalled the left edge more than once. But the new landscape, which has nothing in common with the ocean, also became familiar to him — a landscape with pine trees, with village roads ... Even later, the Gilwick family moved to Alsace. This was also the border with Switzerland.
According to Gil'vik’s memoirs, up to 1926 , that is, until the age of 19, he barely knew French. He was spoken first in Breton , then Walonian , and then in a very specific German language in Switzerland. He really mastered French after he entered military service.
