Biography
Born March 24, 1900 in the hinterland of Old Porubezhka (now the Pugachevsky district of the Saratov region) [1] . Russian
He served in the Red Army from 1918 until the day of his death in 1941 . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1919 .
During the Civil War, he participated in battles as an ordinary soldier, platoon commander and cavalry squadron in the 25th Chapaev Division. Then he fought with the White Poles, the compounds of Makhno and Tyutyunnik in Ukraine, with the Ibragim-Bek Basmachi in Central Asia. He was seriously wounded in 1919 pod near Lbischenskoye.
In 1940, he was deputy head of the Stud Farm No. 157 ( Zernograd district of Rostov Region ). In 1941 - the head of the stud farm.
He graduated from higher military-political courses in the city of Kiev. In the fall of 1941, he fought on the Southern Front.
On October 17, 1941, a regiment near Sambek covered the 31st Infantry Division [2] . As a result of decisive and skillful actions of Lieutenant Colonel Lobodin, the correct alignment of firepower, and the personal participation of the commander in the hostilities on the front line, the regiment accomplished the task with honor. On October 20, 1941, the 179th cavalry regiment took up defense west of the Kopani farm ( Neklinovsky District, Rostov Region ). During October 20, the enemy went on the offensive 6 times, but the Lobodin regiment withstood the attacks of enemy tanks. 17 tanks were disabled. In the afternoon, about 20 enemy tanks broke through to the command post of the regiment and were able to destroy it. Lieutenant Colonel Lobodin died, firing from the Nazis with a machine gun.
He was buried in the farm Sady Neklinovsky district of the Rostov region.
Rewards
- The title of Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Ivanovich Lobodin was awarded on May 5, 1942 for personal courage and heroism shown in battles with Nazi invaders in the Rostov-on-Don region and skillful command of the regiment ( posthumous ).
- For courage and valor in battles with the Basmachi, he was awarded two Orders of the Red Banner (1926, 1929) and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the Tajik Republic.
Memory
- A plaque in memory of Lobodin was erected by the Russian Military Historical Society on the building of the Soviet High School, where he studied.
- The street in Cherkessk, Karachay-Cherkess Republic, is named after Lobodin. Since 1948, Cherkessk became the hometown of the family of Ivan Ivanovich [3] .
