Geography
Usur village is located in the south of Dagestan , in the north of the Akhtyn region , on the southern slopes of the Samur ridge , in a gorge north of the village of Lutkun . The village is located on the ledge of the rock Shekiz sang, at the head of the Usurkam stream. To the north of the village are the historical lands of the community of the village of Hurekhur of the Kurakhsky district . [one]
History
Initially, on the site of Usur there were pastures of the Akhtyn rural community. In the XII century it stood out in an independent village. In the XVI century, Usur was part of the Rutulsky bekstvo . In 1775, the villages of Gogaz , Usur and Kaka were transferred to the Akhtyparin Free Society , in exchange for the alliance of the Akhtyns with the Rutuls in their war with Hryug . [2] 1775-1839 the village is included in Akhtypara as part of the union of rural communities of Akhtypara-1. In 1839, annexed to the Russian Empire. Administratively subordinate to the Samur district of the Dagestan region. Together with the village, Gogaz formed the Usursky rural community of the Akhtyparinsky naibstvo . In 1869, 256 people lived in the village, of which 144 men and 112 women. The village consisted of 42 smokes. [3] In 1886 , 390 people lived in the village. [4] In 1929, the village was included in the newly formed Akhtyn region. The first collective farm named after Lenin was founded in Usur in Akhtynsky district. More than 20 Usurians fell in the battles of World War II. In 1966, after a powerful earthquake, the villagers were relocated to the plain and formed the village of New Usur .
