Biography

Lutheran. The son of a real state adviser to Count Nikolai Fyodorovich Litke (1839–1887), grandson of the President of the Academy of Sciences Count F.P. Litke .

At the end of the Page Corps, in 1893 he was released from the pages in the second lieutenants of the Life Guards of the Preobrazhensky Regiment . He commanded a company of the Preobrazhensky Regiment for 7 years and 10 months. August 26, 1912 promoted to colonel.

Ranks: lieutenant (1897), staff captain (1901), captain (1905), colonel (1912).

He entered the First World War with his regiment. He was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree

 For the fact that in the battle of August 19, 1915 at the Gudulinsky Heights, personally, in rifle chains , leading the advance of his battalion, he knocked out the enemy from a number of consecutive positions and, despite the loss of all officers and 75% of the lower ranks, fulfilled the assigned the task, having occupied the fortified line and held it against the superior forces of the Germans, which contributed to a decisive turn of the battle in our favor.

 For the fact that on August 21, 1914, commanding the head detachment - the 4th battalion, subsequently reinforced by the 2nd and 3rd battalions, under strong artillery, machine gun and rifle fire, he captured the heights of the village. Valentinov and the forest between Valentinov and Kshonov and knocked out the enemy from there, thereby contributing to the advancement of the neighboring combat area. 

He died in battle on September 30, 1915.
