History and Creativity
The group was formed in the late 1960s in Naples ( Italy ) under the name " Battitori Selvaggi " and played at NATO military bases.
Changed the name to "Il Balletto di Bronzo", apparently in 1968 or 1969 , after which she recorded two singles. (Also, several records in Spanish, later released on the singles and the album Il re del castello , date back to this time).
Composed of vocalist and guitarist Marco Cecioni , guitarist Lino Ajello, bassist Michelle Cupaiuolo and drummer Giancarlo Stinga, the group recorded their first album in 1970 with a transitional psycho progressive sound. The album includes a long title suite “ Missione Sirio 2222 ” and a number of simple short form compositions.
In 1971 , the composition of the group was half changed: the place of the vocalist was taken by Gianni Leone , who also played the keyboards, who came from the first group of Città Frontale , and the bassist was Vito Manzari , who came from Quelle Strane Cose Che . " In the second composition, the group recorded in 1972 brighter than the first , and the album Ys is completely progressive in character of music and sound. Only the Italian-language record saw the light in a timely manner, although there was an English-language record released 20 years later [2] .
In 1973 , the group was dissolved.
In the late 1990s, Leone created a band of the same name, inviting bassist Romolo Amici and drummer Ugo Vantini from the neo-progressive band Divae . Records from several concerts of this line-up were released in 1999 on Trys . In June 2000 , at the NEARfest festival, Leone's band was already seen in a different composition, including, instead of Amici and Vantini, Alessandro Corsi and Riccardo Spilli , bass and drums, respectively [3] .
