Reykjanes (ridge)

Reykjanes ( Isl. Reykjanes ) is a mid-ocean ridge in the Atlantic Ocean that extends 1350 km south-west of the Icelandic Peninsula of Reykjanes . An integral part of the Mid-Atlantic Range .

The depths above the Reykjanes ridge reach 2000 m, at some peaks they decrease to 587 m. At 53 degrees north latitude, the southwestern end of the ridge is limited by the transverse fault zone, to the south of which the Mid-Atlantic ridge begins. The largest ridge width reaches 300 km.
