Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation - honorary title . It is established by the law of the Russian Federation of March 20, 1992 No. 2555-1. Regulations on the honorary title “Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation”

Approved by the Law of the Russian Federation of March 20, 1992 No. 2555-1 :

  1. The honorary title Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation is awarded by the President of the Russian Federation to Pilot-Cosmonauts who have performed outstanding flights in space.
  2. The assignment of the honorary title Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation is carried out on the proposal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and other ministries, departments of the Russian Federation that carry out training and management of space flights, a program for the study and exploration of space.
  3. Persons awarded the honorary title Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation shall be awarded with a letter of confession of the honorary title and a badge of the established form.
  4. The badge Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation is worn on the right side of the chest and, in the presence of persons awarded this rank, orders are placed above them.

Description of the badge “Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation”

Approved by the Law of the Russian Federation of March 20, 1992 No. 2555-1 :

The badge "Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation" is a silver pentagon with a convex gilded rim. Sign width 25 mm, height 23.8 mm. In the center of the sign is an image of the globe with the blue territory of the Russian Federation, made of enamel. The globe is surrounded by the golden orbit of a satellite with a satellite in orbit. A second golden orbit enters the enamel plume of a gold spaceship rushing into interplanetary space from an asterisk denoting Moscow.
In the upper part above the globe there is a convex golden inscription “Cosmonaut Pilot”, and under the globe there are convex golden letters “Russia”. At the bottom of the sign are two convex golden laurel branches.
On the back of the breastplate is the number of the mark.
The sign with the help of an eyelet and a bow is attached to a gilded plank covered with a moire tri-color ribbon in accordance with the colors of the State Flag of the Russian Federation. On the back of the bar there is a threaded pin with a nut for attaching the sign to the clothes.

In total, since 1992, 49 people who made a space flight were awarded this title. 47 of them are men, 2 - women.
