Biography

Born September 16, 1968 in the city of Luninets, Brest region.

After graduating from secondary school No. 1 of the city of Luninets in 1985, he entered the Belarusian State University at the Faculty of Radiophysics and Electronics.

In 1987-1989, he served in the Armed Forces. Then he continued his studies at the university. In June 1992, received a diploma in "Radio Physics and Electronics".

In August 1992, he entered the first year of the Minsk Theological Seminary. At the end of the third year of the seminary in 1994, he filed a petition and was accepted into the brotherhood of the Holy Assumption Zhirovichi Stauropegial Monastery.

On December 16, 1994, in the Holy Assumption Cathedral, the governor of the monastery, Archimandrite Guriy (Apalko), with the blessing of Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Filaret , Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, was tonsured a monk with the name Veniamin in honor of the holy martyr Benjamin , Metropolitan of Petrograd and Gorod.

On January 9, 1995, Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Filaret at the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Assumption Cathedral of the Zhirovichi Monastery was ordained hierodeacon , and on February 13, 1995, in the hieromonk .

On June 20, 1996, he was appointed treasurer of the monastery.

In the same year, after graduating from the Minsk Theological Seminary, he entered the first year of the Minsk Theological Academy and was appointed a teacher of the Minsk Theological Seminary.

In 1999 he graduated from the Theological Academy with a degree of “ candidate of theology ”.

December 14, 1999 elevated to the rank of abbot .

On January 12, 2005, he was appointed Dean of the Zhirovichi Monastery.

May 20, 2006 elevated to the rank of archimandrite .

As part of the delegation of the Minsk diocese, he took part in the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church on January 27-29, 2009 .

On July 1, 2009, he was dismissed from the position of the Dean of the Holy Assumption Zhirovichi Stauropegial Monastery and appointed to the post of Viceroy of the Holy Annunciation Monastery of Ljaden .

On March 21, 2010 he was consecrated bishop of Borisov , vicar of the Minsk diocese in the Moscow Cathedral Cathedral of Christ the Savior according to the decree of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on March 5, 2010. The consecration was headed by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Cyril . On June 4, 2010, by a resolution of the Synod of the Belarusian Exarchate, he was appointed chairman of the Publishing Council of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.

In June 2011, he graduated from a two-year advanced training course at the Church Graduate School and Doctoral School [1] .

On October 23, 2014, in connection with the formation of the Borisov diocese, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was appointed ruling bishop of the newly formed diocese with the title "Borisov and Maryingorsky" [2] .
