Chuvashia (train)

From January 1, 1940, by the Order of the People’s Commissariat of Railways, the Kanash-Cheboksary railway line was put into permanent operation with its inclusion in the Kazan Railway. This line connected the capital of the Chuvash ASSR with the country's railway network. The construction of the railway gave a big impetus to the development of industry in the republic. In this regard, the station Cheboksary began to develop further. The Cheboksary-2 park, a cargo yard, the Gremyachevo shunting park were built, a sorting hill was launched.

From May 27, 2012 train trains will follow the route Cheboksary - Kazansky Railway Station - Yekaterinburg - Nizhnevartovsk - Yekaterinburg - Kazansky Railway Station - Cheboksary or Cheboksary - Kazansky Railway Station - Nizhnevartovsk - Kazansky Railway Station - Cheboksary (only terminal stations served by trains are indicated). Routes alternate every other day.

From June 2015 train trains follow the route Izhevsk - Kazanskiy railway station - Cheboksary - Kazanskiy railway station - Yekaterinburg - Nizhnevartovsk - Yekaterinburg - Kazansky railway station - Izhevsk or Izhevsk - Kazansky railway station - Cheboksary - Kazansky railway station - Nizhnevartovsk - Kazan railway station - Izhevsk (only the final ones are listed train stations serviced by trains). Routes alternate every other day.

Earlier, the train was painted in company colors: yellow and red stripes on a dark green background. The name of the train was duplicated by inscriptions on board the car in Latin and in the native language. The decoration of the cars was made taking into account the color of the Chuvash Republic. All napkins, curtains, uniforms guides - with the image of national symbols. Now, due to the transfer of the train to the premium class, new premium class cars, painted in the corporate style of the Russian Railways, are plying, but sometimes old-style cars can be found (since the composition schemes for Cheboksary / Yekaterinburg / Nizhnevartovsk still have to differ, mainly - for the number of second-class cars). Also, the train includes wagons of the TKS company. Passengers of luxury cars are provided with food: from a dining car or a lunch box. In the restaurant car "Chuvashia" the menu is made up of dishes of national cuisine, on request it is possible to prepare vegetarian and children's dishes. Passengers with children with disabilities may order breakfast, lunch or dinner with delivery in a compartment through a guide. The train cars are equipped with climate control systems, the temperature in the cabin in the winter and transitional season is not lower than 22 degrees, and in the summer not higher than 26 degrees. For security reasons, the train is escorted all along the way by traffic police officers.

• On the way, the train passes through 5 subjects of the Russian Federation, namely Chuvashia , Nizhny Novgorod , Vladimir , Moscow regions and Moscow , and also crosses large waterways - the rivers Oku and Volga , Sura .
• In 2008, on the eve of the World Cup in race walking, the rolling stock of the train was completely updated due to the new cars that replaced the old ones that have completed their standard time limit. At the beginning of 2011, due to the transfer of trains to the "premium" category, the cars were once again updated, but not only from the factory, but also from other carload depots. The cars of the new premium class series from the Tver Carriage Works provide the passengers with a modern level of comfort - air conditioners and closed toilets are installed here, which can be used in the sanitary zones of large cities and parking lots. In the compartment of the conductor there is an on-board computer, which monitors the parameters of operation of various instruments and equipment. There is a running line with information for passengers.

The reduction in the number of second-class carriages on the Chuvashia corporate train caused an uproar among local passengers, which the local FAS drew attention to. In December 2011, the UFAS Commission found JSC FPC violated Section 4, Part 1, Art. 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" in connection with the unreasonable reduction of second-class carriages as part of the brand train No. 53/54 "Chuvashia". The company was issued an order to eliminate the violation.

The Arbitration Court of the Republic recognized as legitimate the decision and prescription of the regional OFAS with respect to the subsidiary of Russian Railways OJSC - JSC FPC. The company reduced the number of second-class carriages on the Chuvashia train from nine to four, while simultaneously increasing the number of compartment cars. At the same time, in 2010, JSC FPC, according to the anti-monopoly committee, received a net profit, thus reducing the number of cars was found to be unreasonable. Disagreeing with the fact that violations should be eliminated, the company tried to appeal against the decision of the FAS in the arbitration court, but the court sided with the management.

The conflict continues to this day (17.06.2012). FPK did not comply with the court ruling.
