It is part of the Nikolsky rural settlement [1] , from the point of view of administrative-territorial division - in the Nikolsky village council.
The distance by road to the regional center of Ustyuzhna is 42 km, to the center of the municipal formation of the village of Nikola - 6 km. The nearest settlements are Izlyadeevo , Novoe Ivantsevo , Pavlovskoye . The village of Sychevo is the southernmost settlement of the Vologda region.
According to the 2002 census, the population is 71 people (26 men, 45 women). The predominant nationality is Russian (97%) [2] .
In the village there is a monument of architecture the estate of the landowner Ushakov [3] .
