The river is 167 km long. The catchment area is 7950 kmΒ². It flows through the territory of the Tigilsky district of Kamchatka Krai [5] . It falls into the Shelikhov Bay of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk .

The name of the river in translation from the Koryak language means "river of the drowned." Due to the rapid flow of the river and the abundance of whirlpools, many people drowned in the river, which was reflected in its name [6] .
