It is part of the Zalessky rural settlement (from January 1, 2006 to April 9, 2009 it was the center of the Khripelevsky rural settlement) [1] [2] , from the point of view of the administrative-territorial division - the center of the Khripelevsky village council.
Located on the highway A8 . The distance to the regional center of Ustyuzhna by road is 12 km, to the center of the municipality of the village of Maloe Vosnoye in a straight line - 11 km. The nearest settlements are Davydovskoye , Kvashnino , Khripelevo .
Content
History
The first mention of the village of Stepachevo dates back to 1628.
The postal route Borovichi - Ustyuzhna passed through the village.
At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, the village administratively belonged to the Davydovskaya rural community of the Khripel volost of the Ustyuzhensky district of the Novgorod province .
According to the "List of the inhabited places of the Novgorod province for 1911" there were 18 courtyard buildings in the village, in which there were 24 residential buildings. Residents of both sexes - 78 people (men - 42, women - 36). The main occupation of the inhabitants is agriculture. In the village there were 2 wells. There was a bread and spare shop in the village.
In addition to residents belonging to the Davydovskaya rural community, the village had a society of bourgeois owners. Behind them there were 12 courtyards with 12 residential buildings, where 64 people lived (38 men, 26 women). The main occupation of the community is farming.
Demographics
According to the 2002 census, the population is 258 people (119 men, 139 women). The predominant nationality is Russian (98%) [3] .
Infrastructure
The village has a secondary school, a school, a cultural center, a library, a post office, and shops. The main enterprises are OJSC “Sovelelelets”, SEC “Banner”, there are peasant farms. Communication with the regional center is carried out by road, there are bus routes in the direction of Ustyuzhna - Pestovo [4] .
