Biography

Born on August 29, 1929 in the village of Komaysk, Poland (now the Vitebsk region of Belarus ) in a peasant family.

He studied first in a Polish school, during the years of occupation - German, after the liberation of Belarus - Soviet. He graduated from secondary school with a silver medal.

In 1951 he graduated with honors from the Minsk Theological Seminary , after which he entered the Moscow Theological Academy , which he graduated in 1955 (also with honors). For his work on the topic “The Christian doctrine of prayer and its significance in the matter of moral improvement,” he received the degree of candidate of theology and was left at the academy as a professor scholarship holder in the Department of History of the Russian Church and a teacher of the Moscow Theological Seminary.

Since 1955 - teacher of Moscow theological schools ( catechism , history of the Russian Church , general church history, dogmatic theology , pathology , Greek , history of the Ancient Church). In 1964 he was awarded the title of Associate Professor.

In 1970 he defended his master's thesis on the theme “ Soteriology of St. Athanasius the Great ” and was awarded the title of professor .

In 1978, she was awarded a doctorate in church history for her work “Local Orthodox Churches”.

Since 2003, Honored Professor of the Moscow Theological Academy and an honorary member of the Minsk Theological Academy.

Since 2008, Honorary Professor of the Yaroslavl Theological Seminary .

June 15, 2014 awarded the degree of Doctor of Theology [1] .
