Shalonda Solomon ( born Shalonda Solomon ; born December 19, 1985 in Los Angeles ) is an American athlete , short-distance runner . As part of the US team, she became the 2011 world champion in the 4 × 100 meter relay .

Biography
Solomon attended Long Beach High Polytechnic in California. In 2003, while still a schoolgirl, she won three gold medals at the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships, held in Barbados : in the 100 and 200 meter runs, as well as in the 4 × 100 meter relay race. In 2004, in the Italian city of Grosseto, at the World Junior Championships, Solomon won gold medals in the 200-meter race and in the 4 × 100-meter relay. According to the results of the sports season 2003/2004, she received the Gatorde prize for the best athlete in the USA among schoolgirls.
In 2004, Solomon entered the University of South Carolina and began to play for the university athletics team. In 2006, Chalonda became the champion of the student association in the 200-meter race outdoors and indoors, and she took second place in the US Championship, losing to Allison Felix . Due to an injury, she was unable to defend her champion titles in 2007 and soon became a professional athlete by signing a sponsorship contract with Reebok .
In 2010, Solomon again took second place in the 200-meter race at the US Athletics Championships. At the 2010 Continental Cup, held in Croatia, she won a silver medal in the 100 meter race and became a champion in the 4 × 100 meter relay as part of the American team. In 2011, Solomon won the US Championship in 200 meters and won the right to participate in the World Championships in Korean Daegu , where she took 4th place in the 200 meters and the American team won the 4 × 100 meters relay.
