Description
The flag of the region is a rectangular panel (ratio of width to length 2: 3) of crimson color with an image in the central part of the coat of arms of the region. The height of the coat of arms reaches 1/2 the width of the flag. The flag is double-sided. The top of the pole is a metal cone with a height of 1/10 of the width of the flag, the base of the cone is equal to two diameters of the shaft. It is fixed on a cylindrical base with a height of 1/20 of the flag width. The color of the metal from which the top is made is silver.
The flag standard is stored in the office of the head of the regional council, in the Palace of Soviets.
Flag Options
The decision of the Kharkiv Regional Council of May 11, 1999 "On the approval of symbols of the Kharkiv region" was a contradiction. In appendix 4 (the Regulation on the flag, that is, the description), the flag contains only the image of the coat of arms of the Kharkiv region, while in appendix 3 (the image of the flag) there is a drawing on which a tape with the name of the region is added below (neither about the tape, nor about it colorization is not mentioned in the description). In addition, the fringe on three sides of the flag is shown on the flag, which in some figures began to be presented as a yellow border around the entire perimeter. In the manufacture of the first flags, in order to reduce the cost of production, flag manufacturers reduced the number of colors, so the shield field from green became crimson. The image of just such a flag appeared on some heraldic sites, as the official image.
