Early years

Isaac Mizrahi was born in Brooklyn , New York . His father gave him a sewing machine when the future designer turned 10 years old. At the age of 15, with the support of family friends, he founded the IS New York brand. He graduated from the Higher School of Fine Arts and the Parsons School of Design [1] .

Fashion Business Career

Mizrahi presented his first collection in 1987 at a show hosted by New York-based . The collection immediately attracted the attention of specialists, the young designer received several serious orders [2] . In 1989, he discussed his work with Elizabeth Cannon. He described them as “discreet, elegant and glamorous,” “inspired by New York and decadence.”
