History
Opened in 1909 . The station is located at the confluence of the Araks and Karasu rivers and was indicated as a border point for establishing a border with Turkey under the Alexandropol and Moscow treaties. [2]
Until November 1989, it was the last stop of long-distance trains traveling to Azerbaijan .
Today
Today, the Ararat station is the last most stably loaded station on the Masis - Eraskh line. Passenger traffic is represented by two pairs of electric trains :

There are no long-distance passenger trains since 1989 .
The station is the terminal for all freight trains traveling along the Masis-Koltso -Eraskh line. The station is serviced by the Ararat Cement Plant and an ore-dressing plant.
