Biography

In childhood, she was engaged in singing in the vocals section of the Leningrad Palace of Pioneers named after A.A. Zhdanova. She graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Culture. N.K. Krupskaya .

From the moment of creation (together with her husband Yuri Berendyukov) of the Yabloko group ( 1978 ) to this day, she has been the vocalist and permanent star of this group. Since 1986, she is also the lead singer of the Lenconcert . She worked with the groups “ Singing Guitars ”, “ DDT ” [2] , “ Nautilus Pompilius ”, “ Aquarium ”, “ Chizh & Co ”, “ King and the Jester ”, “ Cafe ”, Yuri Morozov , with Sergey Kurekhin (“Sparrow Oratorio” ").

In 1994, Marina was the performer of the anthem of the Goodwill Games held in St. Petersburg .

In 1999 she graduated from the St. Petersburg State Academy of Culture with a degree in “historian of world culture”.

In 2007, the singer, together with the Yabloko group, makes a concert show and the musical performance Abbamania, the plot of which is a story about a St. Petersburg girl who dreams of singing songs from the repertoire of the legendary group ABBA .

Marina has a sister, Tatyana Kapuro, a vocalist, teacher of guitar and vocals.

Festivals and Awards

Marina Kapuro is a laureate of the All-Union Television Competition “With a Song for Life” (1984), a diploma winner of the XII World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow (1985), a third prize winner of the VI All-Russian contest of singers of the Soviet song “Sochi-86”. In 1987, Marina received the second prize of the VII All-Union Pop Art Competition in Moscow, and also took part in the Polish festival of Soviet songs " Zielona Gora " and the International Song Festival in Sopot [3] .

In 1988 - the second prize at the International Song Contest Baltic Song Festival (Sweden).

In 1989, together with the Yabloko group, she became the winner of the International Call for Peace contest (Japan).

In 1993, she was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of Russia [1] .

Interesting Facts

The record of the country group Yabloko became the first and last vinyl recording in the USSR. However, due to the high cost of 6 Soviet rubles (against the background of the average cost of an ordinary longplay of 1.5 - 2 rubles), the low popularity of the recorded team, and the low prevalence of quad-phonographic equipment, it was practically not sold [4] .
