Acostemminae (lat.) - a subfamily of jumping insects from the family of cicadas ( Cicadellidae ). East Africa , Madagascar , Sri Lanka . Inhabitants of forests, ecology not studied. Large and medium sized cicadas. Head with a protrusion and a transverse roller between the ocelli. The venation of the front wings is complete. Macroset formula of the hips is usually 2 + 2 + 1. Similar to Deltocephalinae . 12 genera, 26 species [1] [2] [3] . It is sometimes considered as a tribe of Acostemmini in the subfamily Deltocephalinae , taken in a large volume [4] . Also in 2012, the genera Alocoelidia Evans, 1954, Caelidioides Signoret, 1880, Iturnoria Evans, 1954, and Protonesis Spinola , 1850 from the Coelidiinae subfamily [3] were added to Acostemmini .
