In the encyclopedic dictionary of Brockhaus and Efron, they are called the Stove Islands or the Pedestrian Islands , where it says in particular: “They are remarkable in that they can serve as evidence of sea level fluctuations. Pallas, who visited these places in 1769, found the island P. under water, but heard from local residents that until 1730 they protruded above the surface of the sea and only this year became covered with water. Since 1809, P. islands have come out again, of which the last four - about 30 years ago; the formation of the latter was promoted mainly by river sediments and bottom surf from the sea. " [1]
