General Information

The first seeded in a single player tournament was Gael Monfils (then the seventh racket of the world). The Frenchman confidently held the opening matches, but already in the quarterfinal he could not cope with his compatriot Gilles Simon . He, however, did not stop at this gain and outplayed two more tennis players sown above him and won the title. In the final match, Gilles in the decisive game outplayed the fourth seeded Nicholas Almagro ; the title won became the most status in the Frenchman’s single-player career: his previous eight titles were in the competitions of the base category of the association’s main tour; for Almagro, the final defeat also became significant - he lost the previous three title matches at this level to the same tennis player: compatriot David Ferrer .

The doubles went to the Austrian team Oliver Marah / Alexander Peyia : Oliver won his tenth title on the Hamburg courts, and Alexander, who was increasingly revealing himself as a paired specialist, won his first title here. In the title match, rivals Marah and Peyi were the duet Philip Polaszek / Frantisek Chermak . Peyia before the Hamburg final five times inferior in the final matches at a similar level. The trio of last year’s champions simultaneously lost at the start.
