Biography
Krzysztof Lubenetsky and his brother Theodore were born in an Arian family. Their father was a Polish historian, theologian, writer and astronomer Stanislav Lyubenetsky ( 1623 - 1675 ). The brothers studied painting in Hamburg . Then in 1667 they went to Amsterdam, where Krzysztof studied art from 1667 to 1682 in the studio of the Dutch painter-portraitist Adrian Becker . In 1682, the brother of Krzysztof moved to Hanover , and then returned to his homeland.
Krzysztof Lubenetsky stayed in Amsterdam. The main direction of his work was the creation of portraits of representatives of the aristocracy, nobility, clergy and their families in the style of Dutch masters of painting. In his genre canvases, the artist depicted the life of the city streets of Amsterdam. A number of paintings created on biblical themes.
He died in Amsterdam.
