Sergey Alekseevich Bogoslovsky (1882, Bogorodskoye - 1944) - forestry scientist, specialist in forestry economics , doctor of agricultural sciences, professor. He introduced forest economics into the practice of education in Russia, and founded the forest economics department and faculty at the Leningrad Forest Technical Academy.

Biography
S. A. Bogoslovsky was born in 1882 in the village of Bogorodskoye, Novooskolsky district, Kursk province (now in the Novooskolsky district of the Belgorod region ). In 1907 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Forest Institute and remained at the Department of Forest Technology of this institute.
He taught at the departments of forest specialization in a number of universities:
- Ivanovo-Ascension Polytechnic Institute ;
- Siberian Agricultural Institute in Omsk (1920-1922);
- Leningrad Forestry Engineering Academy (1924-1941);
- Ural Forestry Engineering Institute (1942).
Since 1939 - Doctor of Agricultural Sciences.
Contribution to Science
S. A. Bogoslovsky studied the physiology of woody plants, the technical properties of wood . He developed a methodology for assessing the technical properties of wood, and established their dependence on the type of wood (for oak wood, the work “Research on the technical properties of Shipov oak wood”). Also engaged in forest taxation , participated in several expeditions. During World War II he organized a study of forestry in the Urals . The works of S. A. Bogoslovsky on the economics of forestry were published in the journal "Forester", "Forest Journal" and other publications. The author of the course "The Doctrine of the Ripeness of the Forest", which was published three times in 1924-1930.
