Sikoruk, Leonid Leonidovich

Sikoruk Leonid Leonidovich ( July 23, 1937 , Osinniki ) is a Soviet film director who directed and shot in the 1970s at the NovosibirskTelefilm film studio a series of television programs called Physics for Babies , a member of the Russian Filmmakers Union (1966).

Passion for astronomy

L. L. Sikoruk initiated the start of industrial production of TAL telescopes at the Novosibirsk Instrument-Making Plant .
Among lovers of telescope engineering L. L. Sikoruk is a cult personality. In 1973 he organized the D. D. Maksutov Telescope Engineering Club. Over the 16 years of the club’s existence, students have produced more than 100 telescopes up to 315 mm in size. .
In the years 1976-1978 his film "Telescopes" was released, dedicated to this topic.
The second edition of his book, Telescopes for Astronomy Lovers, was the last amateur astronomy book published in the USSR. It has become the most popular and quoted book among telescope lovers of the republics of the former USSR.
