The village of Kachagani was founded in 654 , the ancient name of the village is unknown. The modern name arose in 1118 , when King David Kachagan called his name.

  • 654-1116 - The village belonged to the Tiflis Muslim Emirate .
  • 1116-1118 - The village is included in the Georgian kingdom .
  • 1118 - The village received its modern name - Kachagani .
  • 1460-1497 - The village belonged to the State of Akkonunl.
  • 1501-1736 - The village belonged to the Safavid empire .
  • 1801-1917 - The village was part of the Russian Empire .
  • 1914-1918 - Villagers took part in the First World War. Hamid Gulmammedov distinguished himself in the war.
  • 1916 - Mirza Murad Aslanov established a Russian-Tatar school in the village.

Geography and climate

The village is located 2 kilometers from the Armenian-Georgian border and 11 kilometers from the Azerbaijani-Georgian border on the picturesque slope of the Caucasus Mountains, on the banks of the Debeda River. It borders with the villages of Kirchilo, Agamedli , Akhali-Mamudlo , Kushchi , Ulashlo , Tekali of the Marneuli municipality and Yukhara Koprulu of the Noyemberyan region of Armenia. [four]

The village is on the slopes of the Papakar Range .

Population

According to the State Statistics Committee of Georgia, according to the official census of 2002 , the population of the village of Kachagani is 5037 people and is 100% Azerbaijanis . [five]

Economics

The population is mainly engaged in sheep farming , cattle breeding , vegetable growing , fruit growing and agriculture . This is facilitated by numerous sources of water, which are famous throughout the district. Among the water sources can be noted such as “Noy dərənin bulağı” ( Rus. “Source of the Noi Valley” ), “Afly Bulag”, “Korabulag”, “Zoğallı dərənin bulağı” ( Rus. “Source of Dogwood Valley” ), “Nazik su "( Rus. " Thin water " ) and others. These sources provide residents not only with drinking water , but also used for irrigation of fields and gardens . [6]

On August 29, 2013, the SOCAR Georgia Gas company, the founder of which is the state oil company of Azerbaijan SOCAR , in accordance with the gasification program of Georgia, completed the construction of a gas pipeline to the village of Kachagani, Marneuli region and to the village of Camarlo, Dmanisi region . The gas pipeline’s launch ceremony was attended by Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze, Georgian Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister David Narmania and SOCAR Azerbaijan President Rovnag Abdullayev . According to the Ministry of Energy, the 41.4-km gas pipeline will provide 1,100 potential subscribers to the Kachagani village with natural gas, and 280 subscribers to the Camarlo village will receive blue fuel through the 12.6-km gas pipeline.
