The village is located 24 km west of the district center - the village of Bashmakovo . Railway station on the Penza - Ryazhsk line .

History

It was founded on the lands of General Lev Aleksandrovich Naryshkin in the first half of the 19th century as part of the Morshansk district of the Tambov province . First mentioned in the document under 1853 as a village at r. Shushla and the top of the Dubovoy stream, 46 yards, 411 residents, there was a brick factory. In 1928 - 1959 - the district center of the Neighborhood district of the Central Black Earth region , since 1939 - as part of the Penza region .

In 1934 - the central estate of the collective farm "Red Ear". In 1936, an incomplete secondary school was opened. In 1955 - the collective farm named after Kirov. In 1993, an agricultural partnership (355 workers) arose on the basis of the Sosersky state farm, specializing in the production of sugar beets, grain, and cattle rearing. In the same year, 35 employees of the railway lived in the village. There was a hospital with 40 beds, a secondary school (205 students), a cultural center, a library, a consumer services center, a post office, and a cafe.
