Biography
Born September 30, 1926 in Dnepropetrovsk (now the Dnieper ). At an early age, he lost his father, who was repressed and died in prison. He attended music school, studied violin for some time. I got carried away with the guitar and singing under it songs that were popular at that time.
During the Second World War, he tried to get to the front, finished himself for one year, but his vocal skills and musical talent were noticed and he ended up in the ensemble of the Minsk Military District (the leader was Aleksandr Sergeyevich Dmitriev ). Then there was the ensemble of the Belarusian military district (the leader is Usachev Alexander Fedorovich). Next is the ensemble of the Kiev military district, where the choirmaster was Nikolai Yakovlevich Venediktov, the father of Lev Nikolaevich Venediktov , who already listened to Konstantin Ogneva after the war.
After the demobilization and disbandment of the ensemble decides to continue training. Communication with E. Rucheva and her several lessons help the future tenor to form a professional attitude and understanding of her own vocals. He enters the Dnepropetrovsk College of Music and a year later realizes that for tangible changes there is not enough basic knowledge, so he begins his studies from the very basics. At the end of the college, in 1950, the All-Union Commission sent for an audition to the Moscow Conservatory, where it attracts the attention of the rector, Alexander Vasilyevich Sveshnikov , whose decision becomes decisive when enrolling K. Ognevoy as a student in the conservatory, although Konstantin himself has already entered the Musical Pedagogical Institute named after Gnesins . At first he studied with Nazarenko, but later (did not suit the orientation of training - choral singing) he transferred to Margarita Gukova's class.
In his second year, he already sang in the opera studio at the conservatory - Almaviva, Lensky, Berendey. In the last year he was invited to Kiev to record a phonogram for a documentary, and during a visit to the Kiev Opera House, he accidentally falls into audition, and instantly receives an invitation from the theater director Viktor Gontar. These events were reflected in the educational process, so it was decided to expel him from the conservatory, but Sveshnikov again intervened - “Winners are not judged!” He noted, having learned all the circumstances and allowed him to finish his studies. After a while, he invites Ognevoy to the recording of Vespers by Sergey Rachmaninov.
After graduating from the Moscow Conservatory in 1955, he made his debut on the stage of the Ukrainian Opera and Ballet Theater. From 1965 until the last days he taught at the Kiev Conservatory . In 1973 he became a soloist of the Kiev Philharmonic . The singer’s repertoire includes arias from operas , songs and romances of Russian, Ukrainian and foreign composers , Ukrainian folk songs.
He lived in Kiev. He died on December 12, 1999 . He was buried at the Berkovetsky cemetery .
