Career

Club

He spent his childhood in Basel , Switzerland , where he graduated from high school and started playing football at the local Concordia school [3] . Since 2001, he spent several years in the Basel youth team, after which he returned to his first club, with which he eventually signed the first professional contract [3] . In the first year in the Challenge League, he played in only twelve games, but already in the next season he became the main player, regularly appeared on the field and managed to distinguish himself twice. In the 2008/09 season, the team took a place in the middle of the standings, however, due to financial problems, was forced to abandon further participation in the competition and leave the Challenge League [4] . Having recovered from the injury, Demiri was forced to train on his own to gain form [3] .

In autumn 2009, the head coach of Tuna Murat Yakin , who began his coaching career at Concordia , invited Mohamed to his team [3] . On September 23, in the game of the eighth round with Schaffhausen , the midfielder first appeared on the field in a T-shirt of the new club, in the second half of the meeting having replaced instead of Jocelyn Roux [5] . In early October, in a game with Winterthur , he suffered a knee injury, after which he was forced to miss a whole month [6] . In total, in the debut season for “ Tun, ” Demiri took part in twenty games, and his club finished first in the Challenge League standings.

In May 2010, Mohamed extended the contract with the team for another three years [7] . The debut of the Macedonian at the highest level of Swiss football took place on July 17 in a home meeting with the capital 's Young Boys , which ended with a draw [8] . In November, as part of the match between the country’s cup and St. Gallen , the midfielder scored the first goal for Thun and brought his team a victory with a minimum score [9] . The successful game of Demiri in the championship attracted the attention of the leadership of the Football Federation of Macedonia and the coaching staff of the national team, and also allowed him to take fifth place at the end of the season, which allowed him to start from the second qualifying round of the Europa League for next season.

Demiri and Thun began the 2011/12 season successfully, consecutively beating Servette and defeating Grasshopper . In the Europa League, things were also going well. First, the Albanian “ Vlazniya ” was beaten, and then the Italian team “ Palermo ” was defeated by the sum of two meetings. In the last qualifying round, there was a meeting with Stoke City from England . The home game ended with a minimal defeat, and away there was a 4: 1 defeat [10] . Muhamed took part in all six European Cup matches, but could not help the team get into the group stage.

Team

For the first time, he was invited to the team at the end of 2010 by head coach Mirsad Yonuz for a friendly game with the Chinese team in Guangzhou . Demiri came out in the starting lineup and spent the whole match. In extra time, Deng Zhuoxiang scored an opponent. The Macedonians lost the meeting, and Muhamed marked a yellow card [11] . In the qualifying game of the European Championship he debuted on March 26, 2011 at the Aviva stadium. In the 84th minute, he gave way to the field of Slavcho Georgievsky , and the Irish won 2-1 [12] .
