History
In 2003, the first fish exhibition was created in Alushta by young ichthyologists, led by Viktor Zhilenko. Initially, it was only one room with fish of the Black and Azov Seas. [2]
However, by 2005, she had won the right to be called the largest aquarium on the southern coast of Crimea. And in 2007, the aquarium assembled the largest exhibition collection in Ukraine. In 2008, the exhibition began to complement and decorate a collection of sea shells and corals from around the world.
Currently, under the trolleybus ticket office building, there is an underwater kingdom, which is home to more than 250 species of different fish from all over the world, as well as 3 species of crocodiles, 5 species of crabs and 8 species of turtles.
Halls of Alushta aquarium
Alushta aquarium includes 4 halls with aquatic inhabitants and an exhibition of shells and corals . Once in the first hall, it seems that you find yourself in an underwater cave, in which various inhabitants of two seas live - the Black and Azov . Here you will find sea creatures such as seahorse , sea dog , sea cow (or spotted starship), sea dragon , sea cat (or stingray ), and many others.
In the second and third rooms freshwater fish from all over the world are collected. Many of the species represented in our rooms are listed in the Red Book . Also here you will meet bloodthirsty crocodiles, the most aggressive of which are Cuban , as well as good turtles, some of which live up to 250 years, as well as many other inhabitants of our planet.
Hall 4 is the fish of the Red Sea and the Indo-Pacific basin. In this room you can admire the graceful mesmerizing movements of the dangerous lionfish , see the sticky fish , which thanks to its suction cup on its head can travel with sharks and sea turtles, the shy triggerfish that gnaws corals, the amazing ancient sea spider cousin - the Caribbean horseshoe crab that walks on feet of the seabed, and swims up belly, starfish and sea urchins .
