Let Them Eat Jellybeans! also bearing the subtitle “17 Extracts From Americas Darker Side” is a compilation album released by Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles Records in 1981 . This collection was one of the very first compilations of underground US music, the release of which documented the important punk bands that existed in the USA and Canada at that time. The first side of the record included compositions of the groups that formed the canons of the American hardcore punk of the 1980s, and the second side is more experimental in sound.

About the album
The name of the album comes from a phrase attributed to Marie Antoinette : “ If they don’t have bread, let them eat cakes!” "(Eng." Let them eat cake "). Replacing the word “cake” with the word “jellybeans” is a reference to the person of Ronald Reagan , this type of candy was his favorite.
At least two tracks on the “punk side” of the record were never released as they were on Let Them Eat Jellybeans . The Black Flag version of the Police Story, released on ... Jellybeans! was recorded during the recording of the Six Pack mini-album with the vocals of Des Cadena , while the tab of the album notes the current (so-called Damaged-era) with Henry Rollins on vocals. Dead Kennedys version of “ Nazi Punks Fuck Off! "Is completely different from the versions that can be heard on the records of the group In God We Trust, Inc. and the single "Nazi Punks Fuck Off!".
According to the explanations of Alternative Tentacles, this collection was not reissued, since Black Flag would not have given permission to use their track in reprinting, as well as because of the “break in relations” between Biafra and a certain group from the list of participants. At the same time, Biafra fundamentally refuses to reissue the recording until it matches the complete, original track list. [1] Despite this, the album is widely available on peer-to-peer networks and on the Web.
