Monastery History
The monastery was opened by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church of February 22, 1996 on the basis of the parish of the St. George Church existing in the city of Chirchik .
The history of the Holy Trinity St. George Monastery dates back to the end of the 19th century , when the construction of a temple for the inhabitants of the village was begun in the village of Troitsk in the Turkestan Territory (now the city of Chirchik of the Republic of Uzbekistan ). On September 11, 1895, a book was issued to the villagers by the Turkestan Spiritual Consistory to collect donations within the diocese for the erection of the temple .
First, a house of worship was built, the commissioning of which was carried out by February 1, 1897 . The consecration of the house of worship was performed on February 9, 1897 in honor of the great martyr George the Victorious by the priests of the diocese - Eustathius of Lyubimsky and Konstantin Stobersky, who was the first clergyman of the village. The building of this house of worship has been preserved to this day.
After the opening of the house of worship, construction began on the territory of the village of the temple. The design of the church building was developed by engineer Wilhelm Heinzelman in 1897 . In 1898, the blessing of the bishop of Turkestan and Tashkent Arkady (Karpinsky) was received, and on September 8 of that year, the laying of the temple was completed. The construction took about two years. The consecration of the new church in the name of St. George the Victorious took place on November 23, 1900 .
In Soviet times, the building of the house of worship was transferred first to place a village council , then a kindergarten. The bell tower of the temple was demolished.
