Koichiro Gemba ( 玄 葉 光 一郎 Gemba Ko: itiro:, born May 20, 1964 , Tokyo ) is a Japanese politician . Member of the Democratic Party of Japan . Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan from September 2, 2011 to December 26, 2012 .

Biography
A native of the village of Funehiki, Tamura County, Fukushima Prefecture (currently the city of Tamura ) and a graduate of the University of Sofia . Gamba was later admitted to the prestigious Matsushita Institute of Management and Management, which was founded by Panasonic's first president Konosuke Matsushita , to prepare for the career of future public figures in Japan. Gamba was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 1993 after serving in the assembly of Fukushima Prefecture for one term.
Since 2010, he held various posts of state ministers in the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan . From September 2, 2011 to December 26, 2012, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the office of Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda .
