History
The city was founded in 1945 , but a settlement in its place has existed since the beginning of the XIX century . The status of an urban-type settlement was obtained in 1947 . June 20, 2018 received the status of a city.
Geography
Bor is located in the geographical region of Timochka Krajina ( Rus. Border Timoch ). It is surrounded by many beautiful places, such as Bansko Pole , the resort town of Brestovachka Banya , Lake Borsko , Mount Stol and many others. Not far from Bor there is also another beautiful village - the village of Brestovach .

Economics
The city of Bor is the center of the copper ore and smelting industry of Serbia. Bor Mine is the largest copper mine in foreign Europe.
