It was named on October 20, 2006 in memory of the sea captain A. I. Shchetinina .
The cape is located in the city of Vladivostok ( Egersheld district ) - the cape of the Skot peninsula in Fedorov Bay, not far from Admiral Nevelsky Maritime State University , where A.I.Shetinin has been engaged in pedagogical practice for a long time. [one]
In 2009, it was planned to name another cape in honor of A. I. Shchetinina - Bezymyanny Cape in Avacha Bay in Kamchatka, which was not done for safety reasons. [2]
