Biography

Panteleimon Krymov was born in Petrograd, in the family of the chief accountant of the October Railway Alexander Krymov. He studied at the 4th secondary Leningrad school, which he graduated in 1937; in the summer of 1938, Krymov entered the history department of Leningrad State University , where, after two years of study, he took the documents and entered the acting department of the Leningrad Theater Institute . Krymov’s studies in 1941 were interrupted by the outbreak of World War II. In October 1941 he was mobilized, fought on the Leningrad Front, was the driver of the Bridge Company of the 21st separate motor pontoon-bridge battalion. Demobilized in 1945, in recent years, fought on the 2nd Ukrainian Front. For services during the war he was awarded the medals “For the Defense of Leningrad” (1943), “For Combat Service” (1945), “For the Capture of Vienna” (1945), “For the Capture of Budapest” (1945), “For the Victory over Germany” ( 1945).

After the war, Krymov continued his studies at the Leningrad Theater Institute (in the workshop of N. E. Serebryakov), graduating in 1948. He was accepted into the troupe of the New Theater , on the stage of which he often played the main roles. In 1949 he left Leningrad and for a short time served in the Dagestan Russian Drama Theater. M. Gorky . Upon his return to Leningrad in 1950 he was admitted to the corpse of the Theater. Lenin Komsomol , where he met with George Tovstonogov , who headed the theater a year earlier.

A year later, Krymov left the Theater. Lenin Komsomol and again became an actor of the “New Theater” , in which he served until 1956, when he was invited by Tovstonogov to the Bolshoi Drama Theater named after A. Gorky . In BDT, he played, in particular, Teacher in the “ Nameless Star ” by M. Sebastian . He was appointed to the role of Prince Myshkin in the upcoming production of "The Idiot ", but did not play a role - without appearing at the first rehearsal, he was replaced by Innokenty Smoktunovsky , for whom this role became a springboard in his career. In 1957 he was dismissed from the theater for repeated violations of discipline [1] .

Since 1958, Krymov was an actor of the Academic Drama Theater. A.S. Pushkin ; one of his most remembered roles is Aleksey Vyazmin in the play “Everything Remains for People” based on the play by S. Alyoshin (1959).

Panteleimon Krymov made his film debut in 1957 in the historical and revolutionary drama by Tamara Rodionova, “ Stepan Kolchugin ”, where he played a small role as a young slaughterer. Actively starred in the 1960s.
