Content
History
The library was formed in the city of Salavat in 1951 [1] . The library was located in a barracks on Stroiteley Street. The first director of the library was Chistyakova Margarita Ivanovna. The book fund of the library in the old building totaled 2,600 copies.
After moving to a new building on Lenin Square in 1958, the library became central in the city. The library has a large reading room, a subscription, a directory room. teaching rooms.
Since 1972, 9 libraries of the city have merged on the basis of the Central Library with a single book fund and a single collective. Director of the Central Library System - L. Chaplygina [2]
Since 1981, Tatyana Dmitrievna Goncharenko became the director of the Central City Library [3] .
Currently, the library is the leading library and methodological center of the city of Salavat. The library is equipped with 12 computers connected to the Internet, copying equipment.
A Legal Information Center with an automated FAPSI database has been opened on the basis of the library’s Business Information Sector. On the basis of the library, a legal information center has been opened with the Bank of Legal Acts and Official Periodicals of the Federal Government Communications Agency, which includes legislative documents of an official nature. There is also a database on the legislative framework of Bashkortostan.
Since 1998, libraries have been providing paid services.
The library has 9 branches, among them branch number 4 [4] , specializing in local history literature, branch number 2, specializing in children's and youth literature [5] , branch number 5, specializing in books on art (manager Valentina Ivanovna Kochneva), branch number 9 (library “Constellation of peoples” 34 Salavat Yulaev St.) - a fund of popular science, methodological and repertoire literature, audio-video photo library on folk art.
Funds
Currently, the library’s book fund comprises 110 thousand books, a huge selection of periodicals: 200 titles of newspapers and magazines, including 35 local and national publications (Vatandash magazines, city newspapers Vybor , Unysh, etc.) in Russian, Bashkir and Tatar languages [6] .
Interesting Facts
In the subscription to the central library, you can borrow textbooks purchased with extrabudgetary funds (up to 3 books for a period of not more than 3 days) on bail. For a period of more than 3 days - according to the price list. The proceeds go to purchase additional literature.
