Story

The famous female novelist Leonid Paraskevich was shot dead at the entrance of his house. One of his admirers, the madwoman Lyudmila Isichenko, who confesses directly to the office of MUR employee Major Anastasia Kamenskaya, admits of his murder. The widow of the writer Svetlana declares that all Paraskevich’s novels were written by her, and not by Leonid. Businessman Yevgeny Dosyukov, while serving time in a colony for the murder of his business partner, asks his wife to hire a private detective to find evidence of his innocence. But all the facts indicate the guilt of Dosyukov. With all these puzzles, Nastya has to deal with.

Anton Nosik wrote in 1999: “Stylist” and “Alien Mask” by Marinina are detectives in which crimes are somehow connected with the copyright to commercial bestsellers. Maybe the activities of the investigators Marinin and Dashkova have little idea, but they talk about the lawlessness of the commercial author before the publishing house firsthand. ” [2]

“In Marinina’s novel“ Alien Mask ”nothing is cooked from babies. But babies play the role of victims, and there are also medical doctors. Infants suffer twenty to thirty years before the beginning of the novel. Decades later, doctors set out to track the fate of the broken twins in reasoning for something and profit from it ” [3] .
