Geographical position
The village is located off the coast of the Caspian Sea , not far from the Kizlyar-Bryansk regional highway, 22 km southeast of the center of the rural settlement - Bryansk and 60 km northeast of the city of Kizlyar .
History
The village was founded in the 1830s by immigrants from the island of Chechen [2]

Until the early 1990s, the main population of the village were Russians. Then the outflow of Russians began, accompanied by an influx of immigrants from the mountainous regions of the republic.
According to the 2002 All-Russian Population Census, the population of the village amounted to 114 residents, including 41% - Dargins , 31% - Avars and 28% - Russians [5] .

According to the 2010 All-Russian Population Census , 171 people lived in the village (85 men and 86 women) [8] .
Industry
In the Soviet years, a large fishing collective farm “Wave of the Revolution” operated in the village. Currently, the fishing industry in the village is in decline.
