History

The founders of the project were Mikhail Rodionov and Kirill Nazarov. Rodionov showed interest in music in childhood and even then tried to compose songs. As a teenager, he took guitar lessons, but after three months he refused them and took up self-education. Among the musicians who influenced his work, Rodionov mentions a group of Beirut and Alexander Vertinsky. In 2007, together with Kirill Nazarov, they began to play and record short improvisations that they posted on the network [3] . Soon Nazarov left the music, and Rodionov continued to record alone [4] . In 2009, Kirill Parastaev joined him; later the composition of the musicians expanded several times [5] . In the same year, the debut album Echo , which was distributed free of charge, was released on the Whispering internet label. [6] The first public appearance took place on May 12, 2009 [5] .

In 2010, Rodionov, who had prepared most of the upcoming album by that time, turned to the Snegiri record company, and his track “Flood” was included in No Oil. No stress Noise released February 5th [5] [7] . Later, the label manager Ivan Belash contacted the musician and offered to meet and discuss further cooperation. On May 14, 2011, the group performed on the acoustic stage of the Dark Horses festival [8] . In May - June, several tracks from the Waltz Baltika album were presented ! in such publications as OpenSpace.ru [9] , Afisha [1] , Lenta.ru , and on June 14 the plate was presented at the Moscow club “16 tons” [10] . The disc, released on the label “ Bullfinches ”, received a generally positive response in the music press. On July 23, The Retuses performed at the “Poster Picnic”. ”

In 2013, the band released their third Astra album and a year later ceased to exist. Mikhail Rodionov continued his solo career.

Soon the group gathered again, led by Rodionov and to this day gives concerts throughout Russia and the CIS countries.
