Names
Another name for the vaccine goldfish, which is very popular in Japan and is widely cultivated there, is Japanese goldfish.
History of Origin
Although the vaccine is currently a Japanese fish, however, there is no wild form of this variety of goldfish in Japan. The birthplace of the goldfish vaccine is China , which was called King Yu there. A key mutation of vaccines subsequently led to the breeding of bifurcated breeds. From the variety of vaccines, many prototypes of goldfish have evolved.
Description
The fish grow rapidly and reach the age of 20 cm by the age of three. Representatives of vaccines with a body length of up to 30 and even slightly more centimeters are possible. It differs from a regular goldfish in a full-rollish body and a bifurcated tail fin. Some individuals are found with a single, slightly elongated tail. According to the ancient Asian tradition, a long-bodied goldfish was bred specifically for observation from above. It differs from the comet in even greater endurance and a forked short tail - a butterfly.
Color
The value of vaccines in their color. The breed has a colorful pattern of orange and white markings. Red is predominant and can evenly cover the entire body and fins. Often, the colors of the vaccines combine white and black colors; silver, pearl, gray, bronze, brown, gold and other shades are possible - both separately and in combinations; yellow, orange and other colors are often present in the coloration. Brightly colored areas, which can vary from yellow to reddish-orange, should be located throughout the body so that only white color does not prevail. Pure white varieties are rare and are screened out by breeders. The most common breed of vaccines is painted in a brilliantly metallic color, and there is also a mother-of-pearl variety of this fish.
Behavior
Fish are very active and frisky, compared to short-bodied representatives of goldfish.
Containment and propagation conditions
Fish contain fish under the following conditions:
- Water hardness (gH) from 6 to 20 Β°;
- The acidity of water (pH) is about 7.0;
- Temperature (t) 8-15 Β° C.
Feeding
They are unpretentious and omnivorous: they eat both live and plant foods, as well as dry food . Feeding is periodically uniform and in the amount that fish can eat in a short period of time.
Reproduction
Maturity and the possibility of their reproduction occurs one year after the hatching of fry from eggs. Preparation for spawning is similar to that described for other cyprinids : spawning is arranged in the center of a 100-150 liter aquarium with a spawning grid, one or two sprays and a bunch of small-leaved plants in the center. For one female 2 males. Fertility is from 2 to 10 thousand eggs. The larva leaves after 2 days. On the 5th day, the fry begin to swim. Feeding fry - rotifers .
For breeding:
- Water hardness (gH) 6-20 Β°;
- The acidity of water (pH) is 7.0-8.0;
- Temperature (t) 18-25 Β° C.
In aquariums and ponds
The fish is suitable for keeping in a cold-water aquarium with a large space for free swimming, however, it is bred mainly for decorative ponds of parks and gardens. Beautiful in the greenhouses. Due to the endurance of the breed, it can be kept in a decorative pond on the street. Prefers a community of their own kind, bright light and plenty of free space. Effective filtration and regular water change. When making out a reservoir, it is recommended to use loose fine-grained soil, stones, driftwood, live or plastic plants, including floating ones.
