Story
The former marine , and now the driver of one of the former collective farms, Andrei Vavilov, arrives in the city for delivery in the repair of engines. At the repbase he calls his former colleague Oleg and wants to see him. But he marries his sister and refuses to meet him.
On the way back, Vavilov stops at a gas station and gets in line. But suddenly, insolent people drive up to the column and want to refuel without a queue. Vavilov repulses the insolent, they are trying to beat him. Defending himself, Vavilov hits one of them in the face, he falls and loses consciousness. Drivers gathered around and called the police. Vavilov is arrested. During the interrogation, Andrei tries to explain to the investigator that he is not guilty and everything happened by chance. But the investigator does not want to understand him and takes the side of the victim. Vavilov is rude to him and he decides to transfer Vavilov from the bullpen to the detention center . Vavilova is transported to the SIZO in a special transportation vehicle ( AvtoZAK ) together with three investigative officers. They provoke him into a fight and force the convoy to open the grille to contain the conflict. Criminals attack convoy, cut down them, take away weapons. They give one pistol to Andrew and press the emergency button with the cockpit of an auto-cod. The car stops. Convoy, who was riding in the cockpit, opens the door. Criminals shoot him and the driver, and then hide. Vavilov also runs away. Vavilov decides to surrender to the authorities and goes to the nearest police station. In his presence, city-wide anxiety about the escape of suspects is announced, and he changes his mind to surrender.
Calling his former colleague Oleg, he comes to his home. He has not yet moved away from her sister's wedding, sets the table and leads a playful conversation, not allowing Andrey to talk about his depressing position. Oleg boasts that his sister Masha married very tough businessman Alexander Ivanovich Mezentsev and that he helps Oleg in business. Soon comes Masha herself. Andrew is amazed at the beauty of the young girl, because he remembered her as a little girl. She goes to the bathroom and Andrei still tells Oleg that he was detained for causing grievous bodily harm, and about his escape. Then the doorbell rings. Andrei is hiding in the bedroom, and Oleg opens the door. Andrei sees Oleg and three other men enter the room. They begin to make claims to Oleg. From the conversation it becomes clear that Oleg's company is somehow connected with Alexander Mezentsev. He threw profitable currency matters to Oleg, and Oleg only paid rubles to his companions. It somehow surfaced and deceived accomplices came to investigate. Oleg begins to push them in response, grabs one by the breast, but the healthiest of those who have come by the nickname Grill beats Oleg in the neck, and he falls as if he was beaten. After seeing Oleg, they realized that he was dead. At this time, Masha came out of the bathroom and saw the lifeless body of Oleg and three men. She rushed to Oleg, but they grabbed her and tried to rape her. At this time, Andrew jumped out of the room, knocked out all three, and grabbed Masha, ran out of the apartment.
Struck by the events, they caught a ride and came to Masha's home. Masha tried to explain to her husband that some people had killed Oleg, but he was jealous of his wife and did not believe in her story. Then Andrei already explains to Mezentsev that his currency affairs with Oleg surfaced and he was killed for it. According to the description of the murderer Oleg Mezentsev understands that they were people of great authority of Vasily Petrovich, nicknamed "The Mechanic". Mezentsev is a link in the Empire of Mechanics and part of the profit was to give him. But when he did business with Oleg, he did not pay him, and since Oleg had a mechanic man, then the Mechanic himself already knows about everything. Realizing this, he hurries to the Mechanic, hoping with a personal visit and repentance to atone for the blame and save his life.
After leaving Mezentsev, Andrei goes out to smoke on the landing and sees through the window that the very people who killed Oleg came to the house. He runs to the apartment for Masha, but she is in a state of shock and cannot adequately assess the dangerous situation. Andrei hears the sound of an elevator door opening and realizes that it is too late to run. He pulls out a gun and hides. He picks in the people he enters, locks him in the bathroom and shoots at the bathroom door to intimidate him, and then leaves the apartment with Masha.
At this time, Mezentsev is at the Mechanics and is trying to shield himself. The mechanic offers him to get rid of Masha as a witness. Mezentsev agrees and is even ready to help with this. He voiced the Mechanics Masha's likely places of appearance - her mother or friend Marina.
Andrei and Masha are really going to Masha's mother. Mezentsev calls Masha's mother and asks her about her daughter. To the house of Masha's mother, the mechanics are sent. Andrei understands that the hunt has begun for Masha and they are leaving the house. Near the house, they see that the Mechanic's people have gone to the entrance. Only one driver remained in the car. Andrei threatens him with a pistol and he runs out of the car. By car, Andrey and Masha go to the forest and spend the night there, and in the morning they go to her friend Masha Marina. But Mezentsev has already warned her about the likely visit of Masha with a man. He told her that it was Machine Lover, and Marina agreed to help Mezentsev to deal with him.
Andrei does not trust Marina, and after the strange phone call and Marina’s departure to the store, she realizes that there is something wrong. The doorbell rings. Andrei hides Masha behind the curtain and tells Marina who came in that Masha went after her. The mechanics men rush into the apartment together with Mezentsev and beat Andrei. Andrei is trying to get out of the situation and says to Grill that another companion was in the currency issue. The grill takes everyone out of the apartment to talk to Andrei “one on one”, but he attacks him and cuts him down. Together with Masha, they leave the house through the back door and go to Andrew to the village.
Mezentsev realizes that he has run into a big place and decides to hide. He goes home for the money, but the Mechanic is waiting for him there. He kills Mezentsev in order to break the thread leading to his person, and takes the money. The mechanics are already aware of the personality of Andrew, as the hype around the escape of the suspects rose serious. The mechanic easily calculates that one of those who escaped is Andrew, and inquires about him. Realizing that Andrew will go to his village, the mechanic takes people and goes there.
In the village, Andrei tells the whole situation to Mikhail Vasilyevich Toropov, a man with a lot of life experience (including prison experience). Andrew understands that the criminals will not leave Masha and him alone. Together with Toropov, they decide to destroy the bandits and ambush them. They trap the bandits in the quarry area, Andrei shoots a car with the bandits and they are buried with the car in the quarry. The next morning, Andrew goes to the police to surrender.
