Aleksandra Viktorovna Gerasimenya ( Belorussian Alyaksandra Viktor Gerasimenya ; born December 31, 1985 , Minsk ) - Belarusian swimmer , two-time vice-champion of the 2012 Olympic Games (50 and 100 meters freestyle), bronze medalist of the Olympic Games 2016 (50 meters freestyle), winner of the gold medals of the World and European Championships both in “long water” (pool 50 m) and in “short” (pool 25 m). Multiple champion of the Universiade (2009, 2011 and 2013). Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus (2012). She performed in freestyle swimming, on the back, butterfly.

Sporting Achievements
In 2003, Gerasimenya was disqualified for 4 years, but later the sentence was reduced by 2 years [1] .
Gerasimenja achieved the highest achievements in 2010-2012. In 2010, she won the European Aquatics Championships in Budapest at a distance of 50 meters on her back (there she also became the second 100-meter freestyle). In 2011, at the World Championships in Shanghai, Alexandra shared the first place in the 100 meter freestyle with the Danish Janette Ottesen .
At the 2012 Olympics in London on August 2, Alexandra won silver at the 100-meter freestyle race with a national record (53.38 seconds), losing to Ranomi Kromovidiyo from the Netherlands, who sailed with an Olympic record (53.00 seconds). On August 4, at a distance of 50 meters, the story repeated: Gerasimenya sailed with a national record (24.28 seconds), but lost to Kromovidiyo (24.05 seconds).
At the end of 2012, she won gold at the 50-meter freestyle in the 25-meter pool, first at the European Championships in Chartres , and then at the World Championships in Istanbul .
In the summer of 2013 she won three golds (50 and 100 meters freestyle, 50 meters butterfly) and one silver (50 meters on her back) at the Universiade in Kazan . At a distance of 50 meters freestyle Gerasimenya won the third Universiade in a row.
At the Summer Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, she won a bronze medal in the final race at a distance of 50 meters in freestyle.
On August 7, 2019, the athlete announced the completion of a sports career [2] .
Personal life
In August 2017, Alexandra married the Belarusian swimmer Yevgeny Tsurkin, on September 17, 2018, the couple had a daughter, Sofia [3] .
