Biography
Adolf Elmer was born in 1870 in Wisconsin in the United States .
Studied at Washington State Agricultural College. In 1903 he received a master 's degree from Stanford University . From 1904 to 1927 he traveled to the Philippines , New Guinea , Borneo and the United States.
Elmer was the editor-in-chief of Leaflets of Philippine Botany , which published descriptions of over 1,500 previously unknown plant species.
Elmer died on April 17, 1942 in the city of Manila .
