Biography
In 1921, Hartmann joined the monastic order of the Capuchins. In 1826 he was ordained a priest .
On March 16, 1846, Pope Pius IX appointed Anastasius Hartmann the titular bishop of Derbe and the ordinator of the Apostolic Vicariate of Patna (today - the Archdiocese of Patna ). On March 16, 1846, Anastasius Hartmann was ordained a bishop.
On August 16, 1849 he was appointed ordinar of the apostolic vicar of Bombay (today - the Archdiocese of Bombay ). He held this position until July 25, 1858, when he was reappointed as the ordinator of the Apostolic Vicariate of Patna.
