History
On July 29, 1968, Pope Paul VI issued the bull Quo aptius propiusque , which was established by the apostolic exarchate of Sagar, separating it from the archdiocese of Bhopal.
On April 2, 1973, the Guna district, which belonged to the Diocese of Ajmer-Jaipur (today the Diocese of Ajmer and the Diocese of Jaipur ), was annexed to the apostolic exarchate of Sagar.
On February 26, 1977, Pope Paul VI issued the bull Divina verba , which transformed the apostolic exarchate of Sagar into the diocese.
